Just a few simple steps will get you on the right path to knowing your Gluten ID and celiac genetic risk.
Gluten ID is designed to test only the celiac risk genes supported by Level 1 (the highest Level of Evidence.) If none of the celiac risk genes are detected, the results have a negative predictive value (NPV) for celiac disease development of < 1%.
Gluten sensitivity can be caused by a number of factors including classic celiac disease. Negative antibody testing in the presence of known gluten sensitivity could be attributed to multiple factors including not consuming enough gluten prior to taking the test or non-celiac gluten sensitivity. PacificDx, a College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited laboratory in Irvine, CA is the only laboratory certified to run the Gluten ID test.
